I recently had the chance to experience the newly rebranded citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang, now proudly part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio – and it’s a fantastic addition. Positioned right in Bukit Bintang, one of KL’s most energetic shopping and dining districts, the hotel offers the perfect blend of convenience, style, and smart tech.
From the moment you step inside, the hotel feels different in the best way. The lobby doubles as a vibrant living room filled with curated art, shelves of books, and plenty of co-working nooks. It’s stylish without trying too hard, and the Vitra furniture adds an upscale yet cozy vibe.
The smart rooms are compact but brilliantly designed. My XL king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, and the wall-to-wall windows brought in tons of natural light. The in-room MoodPad let me control lights, blinds, temperature, and entertainment with a tap – a thoughtful touch for tech-savvy travellers. The rain shower was another highlight, offering a refreshing retreat after a day out in the city.
The hotel’s canteenM, open 24/7, is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or late-night snack, and I appreciated the mix of fresh meals and drinks any time of day. For those working remotely or hosting meetings, the SocietyM rooms offer creative, modern spaces – including a theatre-style room accommodating up to 40 guests.
One of the biggest perks now is its full integration into Marriott Bonvoy. Members can earn and redeem points, access better rates, and enjoy the familiar ease of booking through Marriott’s app and site. It’s great to see citizenM maintain its quirky, design-forward personality while benefiting from Marriott’s global platform.
