Experience afternoon tea on Fingal Royal Yacht Brittania’s sister ship

Luxury floating hotel, Fingal, has unveiled one of Edinburgh’s ultimate afternoon tea experiences in time for Mother’s Day on Sunday 15th March.

Imagine stepping onto a vessel where every detail whispers elegance, from the polished brass fittings to the gentle sway of the North Sea beneath your feet. Fingal Hotel is not just a hotel -it’s a statement, a floating masterpiece of maritime heritage and contemporary glamour.

This spring, Fingal invites guests to indulge in its Spring Afternoon Tea, an experience designed for the senses. Picture delicate finger sandwiches, pastel-hued pastries, and perfectly brewed teas, served in an atmosphere that glows with soft natural light and the subtle shimmer of the sea. Every sip and bite is a celebration, every table setting a moment of refinement.

The former Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) tender is owned and operated by the award-winning team at The Royal Yacht Britannia, which is located just 10 minutes away, offering the perfect day out for the whole family this Mother’s Day in the centenary year of Queen Elizabeth II.

Fingal’s Galley crew have created the new Spring Afternoon Tea menu to offer guests and non-residents one of the most decadent of British traditions. It will be available Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 3.30pm until the end of April in The Lighthouse Restaurant.

Savoury highlights on Fingal’s new Spring Afternoon Tea menu include asparagus and chorizo tart with sauce gribiche; and prawn toast with chive mayonnaise and sesame seeds.

Navette sandwiches include smoked salmon, wasabi creme fraiche and dill; and roast beef, gherkins and pickled spring cabbage.

Those with a sweet tooth won’t be disappointed with a choice of earl grey and dark chocolate crémeux and buckwheat biscuit; calamansi crème pâtissière, matcha and pistachio biscuit; almond financier, Yorkshire rhubarb and ginger ganache; as well as buttermilk scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream.

Open to non-residents for afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails, Fingal’s Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar has two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence and offers a choice of private dining booths for small pre-booked groups.

Fingal Hotel is located opposite the Port of Leith tram stop, which offers a direct and easy transport link between Leith, Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Airport.

Fingal’s Spring Afternoon Tea menu is priced from £65 per person. Advance reservation required.
