Olympians Get Ready for The Mountain Shaker in Tignes

The alpine resort of Tignes will host the fifth edition of the Mountain Shaker festival from 15–20 March 2026, combining elite freestyle skiing competition with urban sports events.

Team GB freestyle skier Kirsty Muir, fresh from the Cortina Olympics. Kirsty won the slopestyle competition at the 2026 Winter X Games. She is competing along with Ash Clayton, Jeremy Boiston, Thomas Greenway, Chris McCormick, James Pouch and Caoimhe Heavey.

The event will feature the FIS Freeski World Cup in both Slopestyle and Big Air, with competitions for men and women. Training sessions will take place on 15 and 16 March, followed by qualification rounds on 17 and 18 March.

The Slopestyle finals are scheduled for the afternoon of 19 March, while the Big Air finals will take place during an evening session on 20 March, promising a high-energy finale to the week.

Although the final list of competitors has yet to be confirmed, organisers expect many of the world’s top freestyle skiers, including recent Olympians. Britain’s Kirsty Muir is expected to return to defend the title she won at last year’s World Cup event in Tignes.

Alongside the skiing competitions, the FISE World Series will bring skateboarding and roller skating events to the Tignespace arena on 17 and 18 March, adding an urban sports element to the festival.

Now in its fifth year, the Tignes Mountain Shaker is open to the public, with spectators invited to experience both the competition and the festival atmosphere in one of the Alps’ leading freestyle destinations.
